HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 337
Commending the Loudoun Laurels Foundation.
 
Agreed to by the House of Delegates, March 6, 2024
 

WHEREAS, the Loudoun Laurels Foundation, an organization dedicated to developing financial resources and providing mentoring support to underserved students and to identifying and assisting underserved students who appear very capable but require assistance in order to realize their true potential at Loudoun County Public Schools, has greatly served the community for many years; and

WHEREAS, in addition to fostering the academic and personal achievements of students in need, the Loudoun Laurels Foundation honors lifetime stewardship and leadership contributions made by citizens of Loudoun County for the benefit of the community; and

WHEREAS, the Stewardship Trust of the Loudoun Laurels Foundation underscores the organization's commitment to preserving and passing on to future generations its legacy of stewardship and leadership; and

WHEREAS, the Loudoun Laurels Foundation's college scholarship program identifies students who have excelled academically despite hardships and challenges and nurtures their academic advancement and future success; and

WHEREAS, the Loudoun Laurels Foundation works closely with the teachers, counselors, and the staff of Loudoun County Public Schools' CAMPUS and AVID programs to assist historically underrepresented students and first-generation college students with college readiness; and

WHEREAS, through an outreach program in partnership with the Thomas Balch Library in Leesburg, the Loudoun Laurels Foundation records and archives the stories of its Loudoun Laureates to serve as inspiration to others; and

WHEREAS, the leadership and generosity of the Loudoun Laurels Foundation has helped to make Loudoun County a wonderful place to live, work, and learn; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That the Loudoun Laurels Foundation hereby be commended for the organization's legacy of service; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Loudoun Laurels Foundation as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the organization's contributions to the Commonwealth.
