WHEREAS, Jasibi Crews, a dedicated and compassionate school administrator, was selected as the Alexandria City Public Schools Principal of the Year in 2024; and

WHEREAS, since joining the Cora Kelly School for Math, Science, and Technology in 2017, Jasibi Crews has overseen numerous enhancements to academic achievement and community engagement; and

WHEREAS, Jasibi Crews reinvigorated the school's commitment to its mission by investing in talented, dedicated faculty members and innovative infrastructure, giving students the best possible learning environment; and

WHEREAS, under the leadership of Jasibi Crews, the Cora Kelly School has maintained state accreditation and its students have demonstrated high academic outcomes, critical thinking skills, and inquisitive mindsets, as well as good social and emotional development; and

WHEREAS, Jasibi Crews is deeply committed to communication and accountability and has employed diverse strategies to better meet the needs of students and their families, such as providing translation services for school bulletins; and

WHEREAS, Jasibi Crews has fostered a collaborative environment between the school community and parents and caregivers, organizing enrichment services and events to stay engaged with young people both in and out of the classroom; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Jasibi Crews hereby be commended for her service to the students of the Cora Kelly School for Math, Science, and Technology on the occasion of her selection as the 2024 Principal of the Year for Alexandria City Public Schools; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Jasibi Crews as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for her legacy of contributions to the Alexandria community.
