WHEREAS, Will Mason, a sophomore at Cape Henry Collegiate School in Virginia Beach, is commended for winning a national wrestling championship match at the National Prep Wrestling Championships; and WHEREAS, Will Mason defeated Max Hvolbek, ranked tenth nationally, by a 5–2 decision in the 103-pound championship match; and WHEREAS, Will Mason, the first national champion from Cape Henry, won 7–5 in overtime in the semifinal match to advance to the championship; and WHEREAS, after finishing fourth at the National Prep School Championships a year ago, Will Mason made it his personal goal to win the championship; and WHEREAS, Will Mason demonstrated his great determination and perseverance by delivering an impressive performance in the national championships; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Will Mason for his victory at the National Prep School Championships; and, be it RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Will Mason as an expression of the General Assembly's respect for his outstanding accomplishment. |
