SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 70 Commending the Urban League Greater Richmond and the Urban League Greater Richmond Young Professionals.

WHEREAS, the Urban League Greater Richmond and the Urban League Greater Richmond Young Professionals have consistently demonstrated their unwavering commitment to the well-being and empowerment of residents in the Richmond community; and

WHEREAS, the Urban League Greater Richmond has been successfully serving the community for an impressive 110 years, advocating for equality, justice, and economic sustainability; and

WHEREAS, the Urban League Greater Richmond Young Professionals have dedicated themselves to promoting personal and professional development within their membership and have recently celebrated 25 years of service; and

WHEREAS, the Urban League Greater Richmond and the Urban League Greater Richmond Young Professionals have played an instrumental role in addressing societal challenges, engaging in community-building initiatives, and fostering positive change in the Greater Richmond area; and

WHEREAS, the impactful work of the Urban League Greater Richmond and the Urban League Greater Richmond Young Professionals has positively influenced countless lives by providing resources, opportunities, and programs that promote education, employment, and personal growth; and

WHEREAS, the Urban League Greater Richmond's continuous efforts have reduced poverty, facilitated access to quality health care, promoted affordable housing, fostered entrepreneurship, and ensured the voices of marginalized communities are heard; and

WHEREAS, the Urban League Greater Richmond and the Urban League Greater Richmond Young Professionals have demonstrated unflagging dedication to collaborating with various stakeholders to create a more inclusive and equitable Richmond, creating opportunities for all residents to thrive; and

WHEREAS, the Urban League Greater Richmond Young Professionals have been instrumental in providing mentorship, networking opportunities, and professional development programming to empower individuals to excel in their careers; and

WHEREAS, the Urban League Greater Richmond's 110th anniversary and the Urban League Greater Richmond Young Professionals' 25th anniversary provide opportunities to recognize and appreciate the significant impact the organizations have made in uplifting underrepresented communities by fostering economic growth and access to education and advocating for social justice initiatives; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend the Urban League Greater Richmond and the Urban League Greater Richmond Young Professionals for their extraordinary dedication, leadership, and contributions to the Richmond community; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Urban League Greater Richmond and the Urban League Greater Richmond Young Professionals as an expression of the General Assembly's gratitude and appreciation for their exceptional service.
