WHEREAS, Wanda Sue Varney, a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and member of the Tazewell County community, died on August 9, 2023; and
WHEREAS, a member of the Honaker High School Class of 1963, Wanda Varney worked tirelessly over the years to raise her children and prepare them to lead successful and meaningful lives; and
WHEREAS, Wanda Varney gave generously of herself in supporting and caring for her loved ones and members of the community and was cherished by all who knew her for her gentle and selfless manner; and
WHEREAS, devoted to her faith throughout her life, Wanda Varney was a member of Richlands Tabernacle Church since 1974, where she enjoyed worship and fellowship with her family and community; and
WHEREAS, Wanda Varney will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by her loving husband of 51 years, Keith; her children, Timothy and Sarah, and their families; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of Virginia hereby note with great sadness the loss of Wanda Sue Varney, a treasured member of the Richlands community whose kindness and generosity touched countless lives; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Wanda Sue Varney as an expression of the Senate of Virginia's respect for her memory.
