amending title 23, chapter 2, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 23-207; relating to employment practices.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1. Title 23, chapter 2, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 23-207, to read:

START_STATUTE23-207. Wage history; disclosure; retaliation prohibited; definition

A. An employer may not refuse to interview, hire, promote or employ an applicant for employment or retaliate against an applicant for employment because the applicant does not provide wage history. 

B. For the purposes of this SECTION, "wage HISTORY" means the wages paid to an applicant for EMPLOYMENT by the applicant's current or former employer. END_STATUTE
