AN ACT

 

Appropriating monies to the department of public safety.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Appropriation; department of public safety; body cameras; exemption

A.  The sum of $4,830,200 and twenty FTE positions are appropriated from the state general fund in fiscal year 2020-2021 to the department of public safety to:

1.  Purchase and deploy 1,267 body cameras for department personnel and task force members.

2.  Hire video management personnel and supervisors.

B.  The appropriation made in subsection A of this section is exempt from the provisions of section 35-190, Arizona Revised Statutes, relating to lapsing of appropriations.
