AN ACT

 

prescribing that the DEPARTMENT of education issue a request for proposals to hardware and software providers.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Department of education; request for proposals; ELL hardware and software

The department of education shall issue a request for information to entities that specialize in hardware and software designed to provide instruction to pupils who are classified as English language learners.  After reviewing and analyzing the information provided, the department of education shall issue a request for proposals to entities that specialize in hardware and software designed to provide instruction to pupils who are classified as English language learners.  The department of education shall award a contract to the entity that will provide the hardware and software in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.  Not later than October 1, 2011, and before issuance, the request for proposals shall be submitted to the joint legislative budget committee for review.  The department of education shall award a contract pursuant to this section on or before December 31, 2011.
