An act relating to pupil services.


LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST


AB 278, as introduced, Reyes. High Schools: Dream Resource Centers.
Existing law authorizes the governing board of any school district to initiate and carry on any program, activity, or to otherwise act in any manner which is not in conflict with or inconsistent with, or preempted by, any law and which is not in conflict with the purposes for which school districts are established.
Existing law encourages the California Community Colleges, the California State University, and the University of California to establish Dream Resource Centers, on each of their respective campuses, that are authorized to offer support services, as provided.
This bill would declare the intent of the Legislature to enact subsequent legislation that would require all schools that enroll pupils in any of grades 9 to 12, inclusive, to have a Dream Resource Center.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:


SECTION 1.

 It is the intent of the Legislature to enact subsequent legislation that would require all schools that enroll pupils in any of grades 9 to 12, inclusive, to have a Dream Resource Center.
