2023–2024 REGULAR SESSION
Senate Bill
No. 403
Introduced by Senator Wahab |

An act relating to discrimination.
LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST
SB 403, as introduced, Wahab.
Discrimination on the basis of ancestry.
Existing law, the California Fair Employment and Housing Act, establishes the Civil Rights Department to enforce civil rights laws with respect to housing and employment and to protect and safeguard the right of all persons to obtain and hold employment without discrimination based on specified characteristics or status, including, among others, ancestry.
This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to enact future legislation that would protect people from discrimination on the basis of their ancestry.
