AN ACT ELIMINATING THE CITIZENS' ELECTION PROGRAM AND TRANSFERRING FUNDS TO STATE AND REGIONAL FIRE TRAINING SCHOOLS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapter 157 of the general statutes be repealed to eliminate the Citizens' Election Program and that the general statutes be amended to redirect the funds credited to the Citizens' Election Fund to the General Fund to be used by the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection to fund state and regional fire training schools.

Statement of Purpose:

To provide state funding to state and regional fire training schools by eliminating the Citizens' Election Program.
