AN ACT CONCERNING DOGS LEFT IN STANDING OR PARKED MOTOR VEHICLES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to prohibit persons from leaving a dog unattended in a standing or parked vehicle in a manner that endangers the health or safety of such dog. Furthermore, any law enforcement officer, animal control officer or public safety officer may use reasonable force to remove any such dog left in a motor vehicle in violation of such prohibition.

Statement of Purpose:

To promote the humane treatment of dogs.
