AN ACT CONCERNING THE REAL ESTATE CONVEYANCE TAX.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That chapter 223 of the general statutes be amended to remove transfers of real property made by foreclosure by sale as an exemption from the real estate conveyance tax and require the tax imposed to be payable by the foreclosing lender rather than by the owner of the real property.
Statement of Purpose:
To increase the collection of real estate conveyance tax revenue.
