AN ACT CONCERNING REIMBURSEMENT TO PARENTS FOR COSTS INCURRED FROM INDEPENDENT EVALUATIONS FOR SPECIAL EDUCATION IDENTIFICATION.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That part V of chapter 164 of the general statutes be amended to require that a local or regional board of education provide reimbursement, using funds received as part of the excess cost grant pursuant to section 10-76g of the general statutes, for costs incurred by a parent or guardian who has an independent evaluation conducted for the child of such parent or guardian, provided such parent or guardian first submits such cost to insurance.
Statement of Purpose:
To provide reimbursement to parents and guardians who incur costs resulting from independent evaluations conducted for the purpose of special education identification for their children.
