AN ACT CONCERNING THE PRIORITY OF MECHANIC'S LIENS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapter 847 of the general statutes be amended to establish a process, effective January 1, 2014, by which a lienor, who is an architect, may file a "Notice of Commencement of Work" with the town clerk for recording with deeds of land, and provide that such filing shall establish priority for such lien effective upon the date of filing.

Statement of Purpose:

To establish a process for the holder of a mechanic's lien to establish priority for the lien effective upon the filing of a "Notice of Commencement of Work" with the town clerk for recording with deeds of land.
