AN ACT ELIMINATING THE FEE FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE OPERATOR'S LICENSE OR IDENTITY CARD INDICATING A PERSON'S STATUS AS A VETERAN.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That sections 14-36h and 14-50a of the general statutes be amended to waive the fee for reissuing a motor vehicle operator's license or identity card for any veteran who seeks to have any such license or card reissued, prior to its expiration, to reflect his or her status as a veteran.

Statement of Purpose:

To allow a veteran to obtain a motor vehicle operator's license or identity card reflecting his or her status as a veteran at any time, without additional charge.
