AN ACT ESTABLISHING A DEDUCTION FROM THE PERSONAL INCOME TAX FOR UNPAID FAMILY CAREGIVERS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapter 229 of the general statutes be amended to provide a deduction from the personal income tax to family caregivers who are not paid for the provision of such services.

Statement of Purpose:

To provide personal income tax relief to family caregivers for unpaid services provided in order to allow the elderly to remain at home.
