AN ACT CONCERNING THE SMALL TOWN ECONOMIC ASSISTANCE PROGRAM AND THE PREVAILING WAGE THRESHOLD.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 31-53 of the general statutes be amended to exempt any public works projects utilizing Small Town Economic Assistance Program (STEAP) grants from the prevailing wage laws.
Statement of Purpose:
To allow communities receiving STEAP grants to maximize the economic impact of these grants by removing any barriers that the prevailing wage laws may impose on public works projects.
