AN ACT ELIMINATING THE VICE-PRESIDENTS OF THE BOARD OF REGENTS FOR HIGHER EDUCATION AND REQUIRING A PRESIDENT OF A STATE UNIVERSITY AND OF A REGIONAL COMMUNITY-TECHNICAL COLLEGE TO SERVE AS MEMBERS OF SAID BOARD.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That chapter 185 of the general statutes be amended to eliminate the vice-presidents of the Board of Regents for Higher Education and require a president of a state university and of a regional community-technical college to serve, for a term of two years, as members of the Board of Regents for Higher Education.
Statement of Purpose:
To place presidents of institutions of higher education under the jurisdiction of the Connecticut State University System and the regional community-technical college system on the Board of Regents for Higher Education.
