AN ACT CONCERNING STATE AGENCY RESPONSE TO PERMIT APPLICATIONS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2017) Notwithstanding any provision of the general statutes, for each application for a permit pursuant to any provision of the general statutes received on or after October 1, 2017, the relevant executive branch agency responsible for issuing such permit shall, not later than sixty days after receipt of such application, either: (1) Issue a decision on such application, or (2) issue a status report to the applicant that includes the reasons why additional time is required for a decision on such application and an estimate of the date for decision on such application.

This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:

Statement of Purpose:

To require executive branch agencies to either issue a decision on a permit application or a status report on the application within sixty days.
