AN ACT CONCERNING THE SECURITIZATION OF ELECTRIC ENERGY SURCHARGES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to repeal the securitization of competitive transition assessment charges, as contained in public act 10-179, and to add a prohibition against securitizing any future charges on electric rate payers.

Statement of Purpose:

To repeal the energy surcharge for economic recovery revenue bonds and prohibit the use of energy surcharges to pay for general fund expenditures or deficits.
