AN ACT CONCERNING TELECOMMUNICATION TOWERS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That subsection (f) of section 16-50l of the general statutes be amended to require the Connecticut Siting Council to (1) convene a public hearing regarding the siting of a new facility or proposed change, improvement or replacement of an existing facility described in subdivision (6) of subsection (a) of section 16-50i of the general statutes, and (2) evaluate at least three alternative sites prior to granting an applicant's certificate of environmental compatibility and public need for a facility described in subdivision (6) of subsection (a) of section 16-50i of the general statutes.

Statement of Purpose:

To require public hearings and the evaluation of site alternatives for the siting of new or proposed change, improvement or replacement of existing telecommunication towers.
