DELAWARE STATE SENATE

152nd GENERAL ASSEMBLY

SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 63

AMENDING THE DELAWARE INTERSCHOLASTIC ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION (DIAA) TASK FORCE.

WHEREAS, the Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association (DIAA) Task Force was established by the 152 nd General Assembly through the passage of Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 19; and

WHEREAS, it has become necessary to make changes to the membership, rules, and time frames established by Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 19.

NOW, THEREFORE:

BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the 152 nd General Assembly of the State of Delaware, the House of Representatives concurring therein, that the membership of the Task Force shall be increased by adding the following members, or a designee selected by a member serving by virtue of position:

(1) The Executive Director of the Delaware State Education Association.

(2) The Secretary of the Department for Children, Youth and Their Families.

(3) One person appointed by the Co-Chairs of the Task Force.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, in addition to the Task Force being able to adopt rules necessary for its operation, the Task Force may create subcommittees as needed.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Task Force shall hold its first meeting no later than September 30, 2023.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the report by the Co-Chairs of the Task Force shall be submitted no later than March 1, 2024.

SYNOPSIS

This resolution makes changes to Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 19 in that it adds 2 additional Task Force members, authorizes the Task Force to create subcommittees, allows for the appointment of 1 Task Force member by the Co-Chairs, and changes the dates of the Task Forces' first meeting and the submission of its report.
