    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to a review under the Open Government
    3         Sunset Review Act; amending s. 601.10, F.S., relating
    4         to an exemption from public records requirements for
    5         nonpublished reports or data related to certain
    6         studies or research related to citrus fruit, citrus
    7         fruit juices, and the products and byproducts thereof
    8         which is conducted, caused to be conducted, or funded
    9         by the Department of Citrus; abrogating the scheduled
   10         repeal of the exemption; providing an effective date.
   11          
   12  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   13  
   14         Section 1. Paragraph (c) of subsection (8) of section
   15  601.10, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:
   16         601.10 Powers of the Department of Citrus.—The department
   17  shall have and shall exercise such general and specific powers
   18  as are delegated to it by this chapter and other statutes of the
   19  state, which powers shall include, but are not limited to, the
   20  following:
   21         (8)
   22         (c) Any nonpublished reports or data related to studies or
   23  research conducted, caused to be conducted, or funded by the
   24  department under s. 601.13 is confidential and exempt from s.
   25  119.07(1) and s. 24(a), Art. I of the State Constitution. This
   26  paragraph is subject to the Open Government Sunset Review Act in
   27  accordance with s. 119.15 and shall stand repealed on October 2,
   28  2017, unless reviewed and saved from repeal through reenactment
   29  by the Legislature.
   30         Section 2. This act shall take effect October 1, 2017.
