RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Mr. Clarence Webb on the occasion of his retirement; and for
other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mr. Clarence Webb has been highly regarded by the citizens of his community and
state and by local government officials as a person of unquestioned integrity
and dedication to the sound principles of law enforcement; and
WHEREAS,
he has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of his time,
talents, and energy toward the betterment of his community and state as
evidenced dramatically by his superlative service with the Cobb County Police
Department; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Webb began his law enforcement career in 1990, became an auto theft
investigator in 2000, was appointed as a training officer in 2005, promoted to
the rank of sergeant in 2007, and retired in 2012; and
WHEREAS,
he was a volunteer coach with youth sports in the parks and recreation
department and participated in the fraternal Order of Police "Shop with a Cop"
program; and
WHEREAS,
in 2011, he played an instrumental role in starting a youth track program with
the Police Athletic League where he works with 110 athletes; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Webb has received numerous honors, including the Drew Brown Award in 2011;
and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Webb's significant organizational and leadership talents, his remarkable
patience and diplomacy, his keen sense of vision, and his sensitivity to the
needs of the citizens of this state have earned him the respect and admiration
of his colleagues and associates; and
WHEREAS,
he is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for
integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Webb has served with honor and distinction with the Cobb County Police
Department and his vision and unyielding commitment will be sorely missed upon
the occasion of his retirement; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that the members of this body show their
gratitude for the unique and often unheralded contributions of Mr. Webb and all
local law enforcement officers on behalf of the citizens of this
state.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend the care, courage, sympathy, and selfless dedication exhibited
by Mr. Clarence Webb in carrying out the difficult duties of his vocation,
congratulate him upon the grand occasion of his retirement, and extend to him
their most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Clarence
Webb.
