RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Hospice Savannah, Inc., on the 30th anniversary of its formation;
and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Hospice Savannah, Inc., has defined and demonstrated the gold standard for
end-of-life care in Bryan, Chatham, Effingham, Liberty, and Long counties for 30
years; and
WHEREAS,
Hospice Savannah, Inc., was created in 1979 after the need for compassionate
hospice care in the Savannah area was recognized; and
WHEREAS,
employing highly skilled and understanding physicians and support staff, Hospice
Savannah, Inc., provides medical expertise to patients with a humane and tender
touch; and
WHEREAS,
currently, Hospice Savannah, Inc., has over 250 dedicated volunteers committed
to enhancing and supplementing the care provided by the staff; and
WHEREAS,
over the last 30 years, Hospice Savannah, Inc., has been trusted by thousands of
families to provide their loved ones with a dignified and painless transition;
and
WHEREAS,
the mission of Hospice Savannah, Inc., is to provide the best services and
resources for dying patients and assist their loved ones in coping with their
grief and loss; and
WHEREAS,
throughout 2009, Hospice Savannah, Inc., will hold several events in celebration
of the organization's 30th anniversary.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body recognize Hospice Savannah, Inc., on the occasion of its anniversary
and commend the organization for the quality care it has provided patients and
their families for the last 30 years.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Hospice
Savannah, Inc.
