RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Tucker High School's Habitat for Humanity Chapter; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
the students of DeKalb County's Tucker High School Habitat for Humanity Chapter
have earned a well-deserved reputation for compassionate and effective service
to others in need; and
WHEREAS,
the Tucker High School Habitat for Humanity Chapter has built eight Habitat
homes in DeKalb County, including two in Tucker, and has sent a Collegiate
Challenge Spring Break team on its fifth out-of-state building project;
and
WHEREAS,
since the chapter was established in 2002, Tucker High School's Habitat chapter
has raised almost $135,000.00 for Habitat for Humanity both locally and
globally; and
WHEREAS,
this amazing chapter has been recognized by DeKalb County CEO W. Burrell Ellis,
Jr., with the 2010 Community Hero Youth Volunteer of the Year Award;
and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding work of this fine
chapter and its numerous contributions to the citizens of this state be
appropriately recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend the members of the Tucker High School Habitat for Humanity
Chapter for their commitment to uplifting the lives of others through their
selfless community service.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Tucker High
School's Habitat for Humanity Chapter.
