RESOLUTION
Honoring
the life and memory of Mr. James Allen Clary, Jr.; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens
with the untimely passing of Mr. James Allen Clary, Jr., on March 4, 2009;
and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Clary was born on March 18, 1957, in Swainsboro, Georgia, a beloved son of
Betty Clary Usher and the late Reverend James Allen Clary, Sr., and stepson of
the late Cecil R. Usher; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Clary was a graduate of Young Harris College, LaGrange College, and Campbell
University and was a dedicated employee of Staff One; and
WHEREAS,
a man of deep and abiding faith, Mr. Clary was an active member of Asbury United
Methodist Church; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Clary was united in love and marriage to his adoring wife of 26 years,
Elisabeth Ponder Clary, and he was blessed with a remarkable daughter,
Katherine; and
WHEREAS,
an avid Duke University fan, Mr. Clary was known for his dry sense of humor,
caring nature, and his devotion to his family; and
WHEREAS,
he was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for
integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness and, by the example he made of
his life, he made this world a better place in which to live; and
WHEREAS,
this loyal husband, father, neighbor, and friend will be missed by all who had
the great fortune of knowing him.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body join in honoring the life and memory of Mr. James Allen Clary, Jr.,
and express their deepest and most sincere regret at his passing.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of
Mr. James Allen Clary, Jr.
