RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Mr. Charles K. Tarbutton; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mr. Charles K. Tarbutton has long been recognized by the citizens of this state
for the vital role that he has played in business and his deep personal
commitment to education in Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Tarbutton earned a bachelor's degree in finance from Emory University, then
began his career with the Sandersville Railroad Company in 1988, a Central
Georgia business where he currently serves as assistant vice president;
and
WHEREAS,
passionate about the education of tomorrow's leaders, Mr. Tarbutton serves as
the director and chairman of the finance committee for Brentwood School and is a
member of the Georgia State College and University Foundation Board and the
Georgia Public Policy Foundation Board; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Tarbutton was appointed to represent the 12th District on the Board of the
Georgia Department of Economic Development and has served as chairman of the
board of trustees for Leadership Georgia, Sandersville Technical College, and
the Washington County Chamber of Commerce; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Tarbutton has dedicated his time, talents, and energy for more than ten
years to the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, serving as vice chairman of
membership, vice chairman and then chairman of economic development, and
currently as chairman of education and workforce development; and
WHEREAS,
a man of deep and abiding faith, Mr. Tarbutton is a member of Sandersville
United Methodist Church, serving diligently as chairman of the church's finance
committee; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Tarbutton is united in love and marriage to his wife, Helen, and he is
blessed with three remarkable children, Mary Helen, Charlie, and Bradley;
and
WHEREAS,
his significant organizational and leadership talents, his sensitivity to the
needs of the business community, and his remarkable dedication to the Georgia
Chamber of Commerce have earned Mr. Tarbutton the respect, admiration, and
friendship of his colleagues and associates.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend Mr. Charles K. Tarbutton for his efficient, effective,
unselfish, and dedicated service to the State of Georgia.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Charles
K. Tarbutton.
