A RESOLUTION


Expressing regret at the passing of Vanessa F. Booker Morgan; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Vanessa F. Booker Morgan passed away on March 23, 2011, in Coppell, Texas, at the untimely age of 51; and

WHEREAS, she was born in Reynolds, Georgia, the daughter of Juanita Carson Booker and Foger R. Booker, and graduated from Kendrick High School in 1977 and from Mercer University in 1982, and she obtained a master's degree in nursing from Yale University; and

WHEREAS, she had a successful 30 year career in nursing specializing in neonatal care, traveling extensively throughout the United States, and she was the Infection Control and Prevention Manager at Baylor Medical Center in Irving, Texas; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Morgan was a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and the Trinity Chapter of Links Incorporated; and

WHEREAS, she is survived by her mother, two wonderful children, Michael Thomas Morgan of Oklahoma City and Jasmine Nikol Morgan, currently at West Point Academy, and a host of other family and friends; and

WHEREAS, she touched many lives in a positive way during her sojourn through life, and she will be badly missed.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body express regret at the passing of Vanessa F. Booker Morgan.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of Vanessa F. Booker Morgan.
