RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending the 2008 Lovett High School boys lacrosse team on winning the
GHSA All Classification State Championship; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
through perseverance and iron determination, the Lovett High School boys
lacrosse team earned the top ranking in this state, securing a reputation for
greatness in athletic achievement; and
WHEREAS,
the title earning victory marks the sixth time since 2000 that the boys lacrosse
team has brought home a state trophy for Lovett; and
WHEREAS,
these determined athletes completed their remarkable season with an impressive
record of 17-4; and
WHEREAS,
the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the outstanding
athletic ability, the dedication and hard work, and the unity of purpose and
spirit of each member of the team; and
WHEREAS,
the team's spectacular season reflects the astute guidance and direction of Head
Coach Jim Buczek and assistant coaches Kevin Cadin, Darren McGurn, and Duncan
Miller; and
WHEREAS,
the 2008 team is made up of stellar athletes, including First Team All State
athlete Owen Green; Second Team All State athletes Fraser Perrett, Nick
Stonecipher, and North Winship; and Third Team All State athletes Mike Peterson
and Perrin Williams; and
WHEREAS,
as this magnificent team earned its well-deserved reputation for excellence by
performing with courage and precision over months of training and competition,
it is abundantly proper to call them champions.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body congratulate the 2008 Lovett High School boys lacrosse team for
winning the GHSA All Classification State Championship and extend their
sincerest best wishes for future success.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit copies of this resolution to the players and coaches of
the 2008 Lovett High School boys lacrosse team.
