RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Narvie J. Harris Traditional Theme School on the occasion of its
tenth anniversary; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Narvie J. Harris Traditional Theme School celebrates ten years of excellence in
education this year; and
WHEREAS,
since its inception ten years ago, Narvie J. Harris Traditional Theme School has
been a leader in education, providing students with a high quality education and
preparing graduates to lead the State of Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
the accomplishments of Narvie J. Harris Traditional Theme School are many,
varied, and worthy of great tribute; and
WHEREAS,
Narvie J. Harris Traditional Theme School has exceeded the adequate yearly
progress requirements in reading and mathematics in all measured grade levels on
the Criterion Referenced Competency Test for ten consecutive years;
and
WHEREAS,
high expectations for students from faculty, staff, and parents have helped the
dedicated students at Narvie J. Harris Traditional Theme School achieve
excellence; and
WHEREAS,
Narvie J. Harris Traditional Theme School has scored well above the national
average on the Iowa Test of Basic Skills for ten consecutive years and has
maintained a 250 member, award-winning chorus; and
WHEREAS,
the teachers, administration, and staff of Narvie J. Harris Traditional Theme
School work diligently and conscientiously to ensure students have access to the
training and resources necessary to succeed and foster positive relationships
and mutual respect; and
WHEREAS,
Narvie J. Harris Traditional Theme School has maintained 90-100 percent Parent
Teacher Association membership for the last ten years and has graduated four
senior class valedictorians; and
WHEREAS,
by creating a safe, respectful, and nurturing learning environment, Narvie J.
Harris Traditional Theme School enables students to learn with confidence,
experience success, and achieve their maximum potential; and
WHEREAS,
Narvie J. Harris Traditional Theme School has been cultivating the minds of
future leaders and prominent citizens for the last ten years, and the dedication
of the school's faculty, staff, students, and alumni is worthy of
recognition.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize
the many accomplishments of Narvie J. Harris Traditional Theme School;
congratulate its faculty, staff, students, and alumni on the occasion of its
tenth anniversary; and extend their warmest best wishes for its continued growth
and success.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Narvie J. Harris
Traditional Theme School.
