A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of THE Forty-first REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 

     SECTION 1.  The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $622,097,250 or so much thereof as may be necessary and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary is appropriated for fiscal year 2022-2023 for the purpose of capital improvement projects for the forty-first representative district, as follows:

1.   Saratoga Avenue electrical and communication infrastructure improvements in Kalaeloa, Oahu

     Construction for Saratoga Avenue electrical and communication infrastructure improvements in Kalaeloa, Oahu.

     Construction                $12,125,000

          Total funding                    $12,125,000

     The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of business, economic development, and tourism.

2.   Barbers point elementary school, Oahu

     Design and construction for air conditioning for the entire school.

     Design                         $500,000

     Construction                 $4,500,000

          Total funding                     $5,000,000

     The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.

3.   Barbers point elementary school, Oahu

     Design and construction for cafeteria restrooms.

     Design                         $150,000

     Construction                 $1,350,000

          Total funding                     $1,500,000

     The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.

4.   East Kapolei high school, Oahu

     Plans, design, construction, and equipment for a new high school; ground and site improvements; and equipment and appurtenances.

     The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.

34.  Fort Weaver road, Oahu

     Plans and construction for installation of additional traffic cameras along Fort Weaver road at the intersections of Keoneula boulevard, Papipi road, and Keaunui Drive and along Kapolei parkway.

     The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the university of Hawaii.

     SECTION 2.  The appropriation made for the capital improvement projects authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal year for which the appropriation is made; provided that all moneys from the appropriation unencumbered as of June 30, 2024, shall lapse as of that date.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2022.
