STATE OF HAWAII

 

 

 

 

 

A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

relating to the hawaii public housing authority.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  The legislature finds that improved safety measures are needed at public housing projects to address the numerous security problems plaguing residents of public housing throughout the State.

     The purpose of this Act is to create a safer environment for public housing tenants and the surrounding communities by appropriating funds for security at public housing projects.

     SECTION 2.  There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $           or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2009-2010 for providing security in public housing projects.

     The sum appropriated shall be expended by the Hawaii public housing authority for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2009.
