STATE OF HAWAII

 

 

 

 

 

SENATE RESOLUTION

 

 

urging the Director of business, economic Development, and tourism to dissolve the hawaii film office and establish the creative media arts authority.

 

 


     WHEREAS, the State needs an agency with the flexibility to review state assets that are suitable for use as movie or television production sets; and

 

     WHEREAS, the State also needs an agency with the authority and capability to lease and process fees for the lease of state assets as movie or television production sets; now, therefore,

 

     BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the Twenty-seventh Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2013, that the Director of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism is urged to dissolve the Hawaii Film Office and establish an agency to be known as the Creative Media Arts Authority with the flexibility to review state assets that are suitable for use on movie or television production sets and authority to lease and process fees for the lease of state assets as movie or television production sets; and

 

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a certified copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the Director of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism.
