H.F. 284 Section 1. PREKINDERGARTEN-12 AND POSTSECONDARY EDUCATIONAL 1 INSTITUTION SAFETY PLAN —— TASK FORCE. The department of 2 public safety, in collaboration with the department of 3 education and the state board of regents, shall convene a 4 task force comprised of persons representing rural and urban 5 school districts and accredited nonpublic schools, state and 6 accredited private postsecondary institutions, fire and law 7 enforcement communities, and local and state mental and public 8 health agencies to develop a statewide prekindergarten-12 9 and postsecondary educational institution safety plan. The 10 plan shall include recommendations for communicating plan 11 expectations and responsibilities to the appropriate statewide 12 and local authorities. The task force shall develop the plan 13 within the context of existing emergency management plans 14 and requirements, and shall build upon existing resources 15 and facilities to the extent possible.
