461A.31B
Gold
panning.
1
The
commission
shall
establish
a
gold
panning
permit
2
available
to
a
person
who
has
served
in
the
armed
forces
of
the
3
United
States
on
active
federal
service
and
who
was
honorably
4
discharged.
A
permit
issued
under
this
section
authorizes
the
5
permit
holder
to
pan
for
gold
in
public
waters
of
the
state.
6
The
permit
shall
include
an
explanation
of
any
restrictions
7
relating
to
authorized
panning
locations
and
the
removal
of
8
materials.
A
violation
of
the
terms
of
a
permit
shall
be
9
considered
a
violation
of
section
461A.35.

EXPLANATION
11
The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with
12
the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
establishes
a
gold
panning
permit
available
to
a
14
person
who
has
served
in
the
armed
forces
of
the
United
States
15
on
active
federal
service
and
who
was
honorably
discharged.
16
The
gold
panning
permit
authorizes
the
veteran
to
pan
for
17
gold
in
public
waters
of
the
state.
The
permit
shall
include
18
an
explanation
of
any
restrictions
relating
to
authorized
19
panning
locations
and
the
removal
of
materials.
A
violation
20
of
the
terms
of
a
permit
shall
be
considered
a
violation
of
21
Code
section
461A.35
(prohibited
destructive
acts),
which
is
a
22
simple
misdemeanor
punishable
by
a
scheduled
fine
of
$70.
