are
amended
to
read
as
follows:

The
state
hourly
wage
shall
be
at
least
$6.20
as
of
April
3
1,
2007,
and
$7.25
as
of
January
1,
2008
,
and
$10.50
as
of
July

1,
2023
.

Every
employer,
as
defined
in
the
federal
Fair
Labor

Standards
Act
of
1938,
as
amended
to
January
1,
2007
July
1,

,
shall
pay
to
each
of
the
employer’s
employees,
as
defined

Standards
Act
of

as
amended

the
state
hourly
wage
stated

or
the
current
federal
minimum
wage,
pursuant

as
amended,
whichever
is
greater.

91D.1,
subsection
1,
paragraph
d,
Code
2023,

is
amended
by
striking
the
paragraph.

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
increases
the
state
minimum
hourly
wage
to
$10.50

as
of
July
1,
2023.

The
bill
strikes
the
state
minimum
hourly
wage
for
employees
20
employed
for
less
than
90
days;
such
employees
would
instead
21
earn
the
state
minimum
hourly
wage.
