Section
1.
LEGISLATIVE
INTERIM
COMMITTEE
——
ADOPTION
1
RECORDS.
The
legislative
council
is
requested
to
establish
2
a
legislative
interim
committee
on
adoption
records
for
the
3
2014
legislative
interim.
The
committee
shall
review
the
4
issues
related
to
and
make
recommendations
regarding
access
5
to
adoption
records.
The
committee
shall
receive
input
6
from
the
department
of
human
services,
the
judicial
branch,
7
representatives
of
adoption
agencies
and
independent
adoption
8
providers,
the
Iowa
state
bar
association,
biological
and
9
adoptive
parents,
adoptees,
and
others
with
interest
or
10
expertise
relating
to
adoption
and
access
to
adoption
records.

The
legislative
interim
committee
shall
submit
the
committee’s
12
recommendations
and
a
final
report
to
the
general
assembly
13
following
completion
of
the
committee’s
work.

this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
requests
the
legislative
council
to
establish
a

legislative
interim
committee
on
adoption
records
for
the
2014

legislative
interim.
The
committee
is
directed
to
review
the
20
issues
related
to
and
make
recommendations
regarding
access
to
21
adoption
records.
The
bill
specifies
those
from
whom
input
22
should
be
received
and
directs
the
committee
to
submit
the
23
committee’s
recommendations
and
a
final
report
to
the
general
24
assembly
following
completion
of
the
committee’s
work.
