AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 766
2 AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 766 by replacing
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:
4 "Section 5. The Transportation Network Providers Act is
5amended by adding Section 27 as follows:
6 (625 ILCS 57/27 new)
7 Sec. 27. Signage.
8 (a) A vehicle operated by a TNC driver shall display a
9consistent and distinctive signage or emblem, which shall be
10known as a trade dress, at all times the TNC driver is active
11on the TNC digital platform or providing TNC services. The
12trade dress:
13 (1) shall be readable during daylight hours at a
14 distance of 50 feet;
15 (2) shall include an illuminated TNC-provided sign
16 displaying the company's proprietary trademark or logo

1 that is patently visible so as to be seen in the darkness;
2 and
3 (3) may be magnetic or removable in nature.
4 (b) All TNC trade dress items, including, but not limited
5to, the illuminated signage described in subsection (a), shall
6be returned to the TNC when a driver ceases providing TNC
7services on behalf of the TNC. If a driver is unable to return
8a TNC-provided trade dress item or items, he or she may provide
9a signed and witnessed affidavit explaining why the particular
10trade dress item or items cannot be returned.".
