SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
225 ILCS 10/4.6

Amends the Child Care Act of 1969. 1 AN ACT concerning regulation.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Child Care Act of 1969 is amended by
5changing Section 4.6 as follows:
6 (225 ILCS 10/4.6)
7 Sec. 4.6. Vaccination requirements for employees. No
8person may be employed by a child care facility that cares for
9children ages 6 and under unless that person shows proof of
10having received: (i) one dose of the Tdap (tetanus,
11diphtheria, and pertussis) vaccine; and (ii) 2 doses of the
12measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine or shows proof of
13immunity to MMR. Child care facilities, within the facilities'
14discretion, may accept a sincerely held religious exemption to
15a specific vaccination from an employee if the employee
16presents to the employer a signed statement of objection,
17detailing the grounds for the sincerely held objection.
