SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
25 ILCS 5/3.2 new

Amends the General Assembly Organization Act. Provides that if a bill is passed unanimously by one legislative chamber, then the other legislative chamber shall conduct a public hearing on the bill and it shall receive a record vote within 3 session days.

1 AN ACT concerning State government.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The General Assembly Organization Act is amended
5by adding Section 3.2 as follows:
6 (25 ILCS 5/3.2 new)
7 Sec. 3.2. Required consideration of unanimously passed
8bills.
9 (a) If a bill passes the House of Representatives
10unanimously, then the Senate shall conduct a public hearing on
11the bill and it shall receive a record vote within 3 Senate
12session days after the day the bill is unanimously passed by
13the House of Representatives.
14 (b) If a bill passes the Senate unanimously, then the House
15of Representatives shall conduct a public hearing on the bill
16and it shall receive a record vote within 3 House session days
17after the day the bill is unanimously passed by the Senate.
