1 | AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 3707
| ||||||
2 | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 3707 by replacing | ||||||
3 | everything after the enacting clause with the following:
| ||||||
4 | "Section 5. The Township Code is amended by changing | ||||||
5 | Section 80-10 as follows:
| ||||||
6 | (60 ILCS 1/80-10)
| ||||||
7 | Sec. 80-10. Board meetings; township and road district | ||||||
8 | accounts.
| ||||||
9 | (a) The township board shall meet at the township clerk's | ||||||
10 | office for the
purpose of examining and auditing the township | ||||||
11 | and road district accounts
before any bills (other than general | ||||||
12 | assistance, obligations for Social
Security taxes as required | ||||||
13 | by the Social Security Enabling Act, and wages that
are subject | ||||||
14 | to the Illinois Wage Payment and Collection Act , or other | ||||||
15 | expenses determined by the township board by resolution ) are | ||||||
16 | paid , provided that payments made pursuant to a board |

| |||||||
1 | resolution shall be reviewed and verified at the next meeting . | ||||||
2 | The
board may meet at other times as they determine. The | ||||||
3 | township board may
consider and approve bills individually or | ||||||
4 | in a summary statement of any
number of bills.
| ||||||
5 | (b) Upon the request of the supervisor or of any 2 board | ||||||
6 | members, the
township clerk shall call a meeting at the time | ||||||
7 | requested and shall furnish to
the board members at least 48 | ||||||
8 | hours' notice of the meeting.
| ||||||
9 | (c) The township board may declare a vacancy in the office | ||||||
10 | of township
supervisor or trustee if the supervisor or a | ||||||
11 | trustee has 5 or more consecutive
unexcused absences from | ||||||
12 | regularly scheduled township board meetings.
| ||||||
13 | (d) The township board may adopt rules not inconsistent | ||||||
14 | with this Code to
govern its meetings. The rules may provide | ||||||
15 | for excused absences of
the supervisor or trustees from | ||||||
16 | township board meetings.
| ||||||
17 | (e) All meetings of the township board shall be open to the
| ||||||
18 | public as provided in the Open Meetings Act.

21 | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon | ||||||
