| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to recognize Ellyn Ross for her 20 years | ||||||
| 4 | of dedicated service to the Aptakisic-Tripp Community | ||||||
| 5 | Consolidated School District (CCSD) 102 Board of Education; | ||||||
| 6 | and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Ellyn Ross has dutifully served as board | ||||||
| 8 | president of the Aptakisic-Tripp CCSD 102 Board of Education | ||||||
| 9 | since April 29, 2015; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Ellyn Ross was a standing member of all board | ||||||
| 11 | committees, and she was deeply involved with the Finance | ||||||
| 12 | Committee and Policy Committee; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Ellyn Ross was an active member of the Illinois | ||||||
| 14 | Association of School Boards (IASB) Lake Division, where she | ||||||
| 15 | served as Chair; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Ellyn Ross faithfully attended the Triple I | ||||||
| 17 | conference in Chicago annually to advance her learning and | ||||||
| 18 | connections with board members and board presidents; and
| ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, Ellyn Ross fostered a strong, trusted | ||||||
| 20 | relationship with the district superintendent and was | ||||||

| |||||||
| 1 | available at any time, day or night; and
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, Ellyn Ross was a fierce advocate for social | ||||||
| 3 | emotional learning, equity, and the whole child; and
| ||||||
| 4 | WHEREAS, During Ellyn Ross' tenure, three of the four | ||||||
| 5 | schools within Aptakisic-Tripp CCSD 102 were honored with | ||||||
| 6 | National Blue Ribbon status; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Ellyn Ross was instrumental in healthy, | ||||||
| 8 | productive contract negotiations with the Aptakisic Education | ||||||
| 9 | Association; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Ellyn Ross organized special annual events | ||||||
| 11 | honoring the assistants and nurses of Aptakisic-Tripp CCSD | ||||||
| 12 | 102; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Ellyn Ross welcomed new district staff in August | ||||||
| 14 | and bid farewell to graduating eighth graders in May with | ||||||
| 15 | inspirational, heartfelt speeches; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Ellyn Ross demonstrated a strong and unwavering | ||||||
| 17 | commitment to student and staff safety and well-being; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Ellyn Ross' last meeting as a member of the | ||||||
| 19 | Aptakisic-Tripp CCSD 102 Board of Education will be held on | ||||||

| 1 | April 24, 2023; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 2 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 3 | HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 4 | we recognize Ellyn Ross for her 20 years of dedicated service | ||||||
| 5 | to the Aptakisic-Tripp Community Consolidated School District | ||||||
| 6 | (CCSD) 102 Board of Education, and we thank her for her | ||||||
| 7 | unwavering commitment to the students and the district; and be | ||||||
| 8 | it further
| ||||||
| 9 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 10 | presented to Ellyn Ross as an expression of our esteem and | ||||||
| 11 | respect.
