| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate Lillian Lorena Watts on | ||||||
| 4 | the occasion of her 100th birthday; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Lillian Watts was born in Springfield to Lorena | ||||||
| 6 | and James Watts on November 27, 1923; she moved from Michigan | ||||||
| 7 | to Chicago in 1947; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Lillian Watts married twice, first to James | ||||||
| 9 | Griffee in the 1950s and then Luster Fowler in the 1990s; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Lillian Watts worked at the University of | ||||||
| 11 | Illinois Hospital in environmental services until her | ||||||
| 12 | retirement in 1988; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Lillian Watts has two sons, Charles Watts and | ||||||
| 14 | Edward Griffee, eight grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, | ||||||
| 15 | and 12 great-great-grandchildren; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Lillian Watts has been a member of New Light | ||||||
| 17 | Baptist Church "The Purple Church" for over 60 years; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Lillian Watts has always enjoyed dancing and | ||||||
| 19 | bowling but gains the most joy now by spending time with her | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | family and grandchildren; and
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, Lillian Watts stays active by weekly visits to | ||||||
| 3 | Chicago Commons Adult Day Services, where she participates in | ||||||
| 4 | social and recreational activities; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 5 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 6 | HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 7 | we congratulate Lillian Lorena Watts on her 100th birthday and | ||||||
| 8 | wish her many more wonderful years; and be it further
