HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate Jim Ingram on the occasion
4of his retirement as Douglas County Clerk and Recorder; and
5 WHEREAS, Jim Ingram was raised in rural Charleston; he
6attended Eastern Illinois University, where he earned his
7bachelor's degree in education; and
8 WHEREAS, Jim Ingram served as Art Director of Shiloh School
9in Hume for 19 1/2 years; he also worked in real estate for 32
10years until his retirement in 2010 and was the owner of a real
11estate agency for 15 years; and
12 WHEREAS, Jim Ingram has had a long and distinguished career
13in local government; he was appointed and elected to serve as
14the City Treasurer of Newman; in 1990, he was elected to serve
15as the Clerk and Recorder of Douglas County, a position he
16faithfully executed until his retirement on December 1, 2012;
17and
18 WHEREAS, Jim Ingram is a past president of the Newman Lions
19Club and a member of the First Neighbor Bank Advisory Board,
20the Lions Club, the American Heart Association, and the
21American Cancer Society; he also served as president of the

1Illinois Association of County Clerks and Recorders in 2000;
2and
3 WHEREAS, Jim Ingram and his wife, Margie, have 2 daughters,
4Jennifer and Kate, and 6 grandchildren; therefore, be it
5 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
6NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
7we congratulate Jim Ingram on the occasion of his retirement
8and wish him continued success and happiness in the future; and
9be it further
10 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to Jim Ingram as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
