Provides that before a municipality uses territory annexed for sand, rock, or gravel mining operations, the municipality must have approval of all township boards of trustees, by a majority vote of each board, whose township has jurisdiction over all or part of a highway or road within 20 miles of the annexed territory. Effective immediately.

Amends the Illinois Municipal Code. Provides that before a municipality uses territory annexed under to this Division for sand, rock, or gravel mining operations, the municipality must have approval of all township boards of trustees, by a majority vote of each board, whose township has jurisdiction over all or part of a highway or road within 20 miles of the annexed territory. 1 AN ACT concerning local government.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Illinois Municipal Code is amended by adding
5Section 7-1-10.5 as follows:

7 Sec. 7-1-10.5. Approval of township board. Before a
8municipality uses territory annexed under to this Division for
9sand, rock, or gravel mining operations, the municipality must
10have approval of all township boards of trustees, by a majority

12part of a highway or road within 20 miles of the annexed
13territory.
14 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
15becoming law.
