SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Sydney Rose Putnam of Springfield, who
4passed away on July 25, 2023; and
5 WHEREAS, Sydney Putnam was born to Dennis James and Sally
6Ann Skufca Putnam in Springfield on February 9, 1996; she
7graduated from Rochester High School and earned her CNA
8license from Lincoln Land Community College; and
9 WHEREAS, Sydney Putnam worked at Osaka Japanese Restaurant
10in Springfield; and
11 WHEREAS, Sydney Putnam enjoyed spending time with her
12family, especially her nieces and nephews, and her dog, Mel
13Mel; she loved being at the pool and making people laugh; and
14 WHEREAS, Sydney Putnam was creative, artistic, and
15fun-loving, and she was known for her great sense of humor; and
16 WHEREAS, Sydney Putnam was preceded in death by her
17maternal grandmother, Rosella Skufca, and her paternal
18grandparents, James A. Putnam, Betty Putnam, and Diana Putnam;

1 WHEREAS, Sydney Putnam is survived by her mother, Sally
2Putnam; her father, Dennis (Theresa Bietsch) Putnam; her
3grandfather, John Skufca; her siblings, Jacob (Julie)
4Stapleton, Kelsi (Caleb) Worsham, Nicole Stapleton, and Erin
5(Jake) Miller; her nieces and nephews, Wyatt, Walsh, Willow
6"Big Will", Iris, McKena, Dean, and Evelyn; her cousins,
7Adeline, Eleanor, and Jack; and many other cousins, aunts, and
8uncles; therefore, be it
9 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Sydney Rose Putnam and extend our sincere condolences to her
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
13further
14 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Sydney Putnam as an expression of
16our deepest sympathy.
