SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Barbara Ann Smith of Gurnee, who passed
away on May 15, 2019; and
WHEREAS, Barbara Smith was born in Waukegan to Kenneth and
Mildred M. (Helquist) Smith on October 21, 1945; she graduated
from Warren High School in 1963; and
WHEREAS, Barbara Smith worked at the Great Lakes Naval Base
for over 45 years; and
WHEREAS, Barbara Smith loved car racing, especially Nascar
and Sprint; she was an avid sports fan and loved the Blackhawks
and the Cubs; and
WHEREAS, Barbara Smith was preceded in death by her parents
and her aunt, Violet; and
WHEREAS, Barbara Smith is survived by her children, Dawn
Keefer (Paul Bishop), William "Billy" Trusky (Sandy Zons),
Brian Trusky, Barry (Shana) Trusky, and Denise (Deacon Jeremy)
Carter; her grandchildren, Jerry, Heather, Stephanie, Joey,
Kyle, Michael, Katie, Matthew, Meghann, Morgan, Maddie, Josh,
and one due in September; and her brother, Bruce (Linda) Smith;

therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
Barbara Ann Smith and extend our sincere condolences to her
family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Barbara Smith as an expression of
our deepest sympathy.
