SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
congratulate Michael Olvera on his successful election as
business manager of Iron Workers Local 111, anchored in
Illinois' Quad Cities; and
WHEREAS, The International Association of Bridge,
Structural, Ornamental, and Reinforcing Iron Workers Union
Local 111 is a proud member of the Illinois AFL-CIO and a trade
association whose beginnings go back to 1907; and
WHEREAS, The International Iron Workers Union represents
120,000 members across North America; and
WHEREAS, Iron Workers build skillfully, ensuring quality
bridges, infrastructure improvements, schools, office
buildings, hospitals, and more are safely erected; and
WHEREAS, Iron Workers are the "Bridge Builders of
Illinois" as demonstrated by the improvements to at least 533
bridges since the beginning of the historic Rebuild Illinois
Capital Plan; and
WHEREAS, Iron Workers are doing their part in the
renewable energy sector to help construct wind turbines, solar

fields, and hydrogen facilities, helping power Illinois;
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate and
thank Iron Workers Local Union 111 for their invaluable work
on our state's infrastructure; and be it further
